Sakura Pigma pens on an 8.5 by 11. Started doing a fade correction with the last one, and I understand that it’s probably necessary (the black turns out a lot better and truer to form), but it feels odd to do, like it’s less authentic somehow.

Knee is doing alright. Next week it will have been 6 weeks, and I’m really hoping to be able to take over my cooking responsibility again (my brother has been doing great! I just also know how much of a load it can be.), and get out of the house more (went to my sisters for labor day. My knee had complaints on the way there which I could adjust and deal with, but I was designated as the person to drive home for some reason and it was rather unhappy after that.).

Saw a thing about ACEOs recently, which of course made me curious, and now I’m contemplating if doing those would be a good idea… needs more thought.

Been doing some game streams when I can (like yesterday and tonight). Haven’t played around with short videos yet, and I may need to do some that I don’t share at all before I do, but it is in the plans.

Hope you all have a wonderful week, and safe travels!

Sakura pigma microns (plus a graphic for space fill and the… outside? outline? I don’t know what to call it) on a 8.5 by 11. I wasn’t particularly happy with this one while making it, lines didn’t go how I wanted them to, and the paper got bent a couple times. But now that I’ve had time to step back from it, I’m pretty happy with the overall look of it, if I don’t look at it too long.

I’ve gotten two new followers on Instagram! I’m trying to curb my excitement and expectations, because I don’t want to accidentally crash my self by trying to do much or expecting things to go a certain way, but it is difficult. I am trying to recognize it as an improvement and a step towards where I want to be, because I’m apparently doing well enough at putting myself out there for someone to take notice, which is kinda big for me. I also got a “send me this post” comment, which is apparently a bot or scam, so I will probably not be interacting with it anytime soon.

My knee is doing better. I stood on it a little long the other day, and the weather is cooling, so it’s a little stiff right now and some regular movements are uncomfortable, but it’s not too bad. Two more weeks and I think I’ll be good to go back to normal! I’ve been adding some things of my usual routine back, but I still haven’t braved the stairs to do laundry yet (family has been helping me get it done) or done many out of house activities (I try to, but just getting ready tends to push it), because just the normal wandering around the house still puts a strain on it most days. Healing requires rest and patience, which is hard to give myself, but things will be worse in the long run if I don’t, so I’m trying me best.

Hope you all have wonderful week, and safe travels!

A dying Sakura pigma micron 005 and a BIC grip roller on a 3 by 5 index card. I’ve had both for years. The Sakura was part of a set I got when making coloring books, but forgot to throw away this one away once it wasn’t working for what I needed (which I am currently thankful for), however I hope to get some new pens like them again soon. The BIC I got at a job fair and it has always had trouble with flow consistency, at least after years of disuse it doesn’t bleed through paper in spots anymore!

There’s a county Fair coming up, and I’m hoping to enter some things in it, but there’s some logistical things to figure out first, and I’d need to figure out what to enter.

There’s also a juried art exhibit I’d like to be a part of, which would be nerve-racking (the Fair would be too, but this would even more so), and while I know that I am capable of making nicer things on occasion, I’m not sure anything I’ve made in that last two years would do well. Especially when I look at what was entered last year, and considering that most of what I’ve made in the past two years have been on little 3 by 5 index cards. I did do a little painting at the beginning of the year (and then found out how to make the paint work better after) but there are two of them I’m fairly happy with, so maybe they’ll be ok? I don’t think it helps that I can see things that I feel I’m lacking in my art right now… In many ways it feels childish, and worse than when I started. And I currently lack the wherewithal to change it… you know… I’m not sure I’ve made a plan to change it either, so I know where to start now! because failure to plan is planning for failure.

Anyway. Hope you all have a wonderful week, and safe travels!

Bullet fine line markers on 3 by 5. I like the shape of the fish-thing, and I’m pretty happy with how the lighter blues kind of the effect I was going for, however it doesn’t have much of a cute or creepy feel to it, and the background probably would have been better if I used the blues on the fish. Overall I think I did fairly well considering I’d had four hours of, interrupted, sleep.

Tax season is finally over, which means I will hopefully have better access to transportation to do painting and the like.

I need to do some thinking about how to make drawing and stuff like that a more regular and less stressful part of my life again, because I’ve noticed that most of my drawing time is just making a creature to get a post done right now, and it makes it difficult to even start drawing when it feels like it has to be presentable every time you make something, like there’s no room to just play around and let it be ugly and chaotic. So I’m going to look at what I was doing before, see if I can at least draw some inspiration that, and go from there.

Hope you have a wonderful week, and safe travels!

Eyes

Got a bit smudged in places while working on it.

I don’t have much to write about, especially since at the time of writing I should be asleep because I have to be up a LOT earlier than usual for me, as I am pet sitting in the morning, but this managed to slip from my mind until midnight, so here I am.

Classes: found one, have not signed up for it yet.

Social: Posting a little bit (less than once a day), however no link for it yet, because I’m like that.

Painting: Finished four so far, and it is very different for me.

That’s all I feel like elaborating on right now, as this has taken me about an hour from turning on my computer and I should have been asleep about four hours ago.

I hope you all have a wonderful week, sleep well, and enjoy the picture! I am going to bed!!

I’ve returned!

And it’s only been a year and a half. Yay for improvement!

It’s kind of been one thing after another. Figuring out medical things, a friend passing, pets passing, being down to one car in a house of five (all with places to be), and most recently not having a fridge for two months because the one that would fit where the last one died took that long to get (thankfully the weather had been cool enough to store some things outside). So by the time I was recovered from one thing, another had happened.

There’s still quite a bit on my plate, and I’m still recovering, however I’m getting better at making things work, and I hope to continue doing so (As my family likes to say “trend towards improvement!”)! I still want a nap and big cup of cocoa though.

ps: thanks to my mom for letting me use her little office while she’s doing other things, it helps a lot!!!

Almost a Disaster

You know what? I’m changing it up today! I want to know what you think is going on in the picture, to merit such a title as “Almost a Disaster”, and I’ll let you know what I was thinking of next week. In the mean time, I hope you are all having a good week, are staying safe wherever you are and whatever you’re doing, and have a wonderful Independence Day tomorrow!

It’s a Pink Horse

Ever since a kid ran up to it declaring that it’s a pink horse, it has calmly corrected anyone that says otherwise. It has resulted in a bit of confusion amongst tourists and those new to the village, but no one wants to argue with the thing because, A. it protects the local food crops, and B. it’s a DRAGON! That’s like arguing with a brick wall. If brick walls could breathe fire, and make you disappear with a single bite. Oh! If you ever see it at a party, and it asks if you want to see a magic trick? SAY NO! Or somebody’s gonna end up covered in dragon drool, and that stuff is a pain to get out of anything!

Greeting The Day Star

Would you care to join my friend and I? We are greeting the Day Star, high in the sky. A little bit of its light is good for me and you. And it’s good for the plants and my friend too. But don’t stay too long! For even with protection, the Day Stars light can cause destruction!

Note: There is no Redbubble For this yet, because reasons. And I have decided to focus on some other things, before I do anymore on there, as there is not enough demand for it to be worthwhile at this point in time. If there is one that you want on something, now or in the future, let me know and I will put it on there. Hope you all are staying safe, and I will see you next week!

The Wise Rainbow Dragon

The Wise Rainbow Dragon is quite the majestic sight, and you may catch a glimpse of him in the misty sunlight. If you happen to find him resting in a spot of sun, ask him your questions, one, by one. He’ll answer each question with kindness and care, till the sun has gone down and the fireflies flare. With a great sigh he’ll nudge you on home, wishing you luck with the knowledge now known. And if you happen to see him again, he’ll greet you by name like a very old friend.
