Nest weaver

Surprise surprise, it’s sharpie on 3 by 5! And it will be sharpies for a while, as I have a container full of them, am trying to use up materials, and they are rather convenient while I figure out how to do other things.

Stuff and Things!

Classes: I minorly forgot about them, so I’m still not signed up… however things are looking a little more hopeful in the paying for them department if things line up right!

Paintings: Finished the last Cute or Creepy one! and then I actually looked up why I was having so many issues with some things… yeah… my last one especially would have looked better if I had known those things before hand, but such is life. Next is landscape paintings. As for pictures, I’m hoping to have enough to pay for everything I need to and have some left over for a light box or something after the next few stretches of pet sitting.

Redbubble: I think they changed some things for having a store (or I just missed something), so I have some things to change/update, however I hope to have it going soon! Also, while I am working on some things specifically for redbubble, if you see something I’ve made here and you want to be able to get it on something or just a sticker of it, leave a comment on it letting me know.

Social: I’m having a little bit of a dilemma, as my phone is running out of space, and I kinda need all of the things on it. I’m talking like don’t have any games on it, got rid of a method of communication (pretty much only used once in a blue moon with family, but STILL!!!) levels of running out of space. So I may need to forget about social for a bit, because it takes up too much space to try and keep right now, however social is one of THE methods for getting your stuff out there. So I’m not sure what to do yet.

Streaming: Will not be doing for most of next month due to pet sitting. And I’m contemplating adding another game, because the one I’m doing is sooooooo sloooooooow and not very conducive to engagement… And I’m already not a very engaging person.

Thumb: Is fine! While my efforts probably helped, it wasn’t as bad as I thought, and while there’s still a little recovering to do, it is no longer annoying, it just looks a little funny.

Website: unchanged, due to forgetfulness and anxiety.

YouTube: Unchanged.

Cocooned

Sharpies on a 3 by 5.

I would like you to know that making progress is going to take some time, as I am easily distractible and forgetful at times, and have many things that generally take priority over my art and the like. I’m trying to find a balance, and be patient with myself, which I think I’m (slowly) getting better at! All that to say… don’t be surprised if where I’m at on something doesn’t progress for a while, because there’s a lot going on that I don’t share here, for various reasons. now that that’s done, on to Stuff and Things!

Thumb: Yes, that says thumb. Last week I hurt my left (non dominant) thumb. It’s not that bad per se, in fact it’s mostly just annoying at right now! because I need to be careful I don’t accidentally make it whole lot worse, while also hoping my method to keep that from happening doesn’t somehow make things bad in the long run. It’s kinda hard to explain without going into detail, which I don’t want to do here.

Social: unchanged.

Paintings: Finished another one! Only one left for my current goal! As for pictures of them… A light box has gone up in priority of things to get, however I’m worried about how well the paintings will fit in a cheaper 1 foot by 1 foot one, and the size I think might work best for now would be around 70 bucks. So I’m going to think on this stuff more.

YouTube: unchanged.

Streaming: I’m currently very inconsistent due to life, other than that, unchanged.

Website: unchanged.

Other than that… I’m currently realizing how regular yet irregular my schedule is. There’s the regular things like church activities (consistent times and places with the occasional outliers) and tabletop RPGs (when they are supposed to happen is fairly consistent, however we are almost always late and/or over, and then there’s the stuff you’re supposed to get done for it between sessions or before starting a new campaign). There’s regular irregular things like shopping days (I have 3 days of the week that I go shopping on, however I don’t know when I’ll have a vehicle to do it. Thankfully I usually have one in time for church activities, and I plan the shopping for times when it doesn’t happen till after dinner.), posting here (I schedule when it’s published, however I’m generally making it when I remember the day before), pet sitting (I do some about once a month, for various lengths of time), and having people over for dinner (at least once a month. This week I made dinner, however I didn’t know when exactly they were planning to be here till less than two hours before, yet managed to get everything made in time!). And then irregular things like driving family members to things, or someone just needing an extra hand with something. And I’m kinda wondering if all this has put me in a semi constant waiting mode, like you can’t do much or you’ll get too focused and miss something that you need to do so you need to be ready to drop whatever you’re doing at any second… I don’t know. It’s past 02:00, I’ve gone on a tangent, I should go to bed.

Metallic purple gel pen and dying fine-liner on 3×5 cardstock. (the slightly lighter bits in the border are where the tape took some stuff with it.)

Didn’t make it down to the office this week, however I was able to start on another project while pet sitting! I ended up with bits of scrap cardstock in various little sizes from making the 3x5s, so I’m using them to make little drawings that might work as stickers!

As for stuff and things… my week has been so busy with other things, I haven’t had the time to really make progress on anything. Hopefully next week goes better on that front.

Checker Bug

3 by 5 and sharpies again. Also, I was off on the size of sharpies last time, they were fine and ultra fine, which was the sizes used here as well.

Stuff and things!

Classes: still not signed up, which I should probably do soon, however I want to make sure I have enough to pay for this website and taxes first. I do have a little saved to cover things if need be, but I would rather it didn’t come to that.

Social: I’m not ready yet.

Paintings: finished another one… two?… I don’t know, my log book for that stuff isn’t at home. Same dilemma as last time though, and I felt the same as last time, so same result. My wonderful sister did give me the idea of getting a light box for taking pictures of them. It is a bit lower on the list of things to put money towards, but it also sparked a few more ideas, so we’ll see what happens.

YouTube: working on some art videos, not the best set up for them, but when is it ever. Also need better pictures of the end results.

Streaming: doing as I thought it would, with pretty much just me in there (although some family members and possible others decided to watch the first one, for which I’m very thankful), struggling with the game and premise I chose (Morrowind is so SLOW, and I made it even SLOWER). However I also think that it is helping me be more comfortable with the idea of live streaming, and working on that skill, which will hopefully transfer over a little to an art live stream later. (no live streams this weekend though, I’m pet sitting)

Vehicle: My older brother fixed the problem!!! It still has issues, however it can drive, and that’s the important thing!

Website: haven’t had much time to poke at it this week, will poke at it later.

Busy

I’m rather pleased with this one. It also helped me realize that I don’t always explain what I’m working with. This time it was Sharpies (one fine point), a Crayola marker, and a white pen for the shine in the eyes, on a 3×5 index card. I have some nicer materials, but I also want to use up the old ones, and sometimes I just use what’s on hand like the last two. So, because the quality of your materials can effect how the quality of your work is perceived, I will try to let you know what I was working with at the time from now on.

Now for the update on stuff and things

Classes: still have not signed up for. (I’ll get there… eventually)

Social: still no link for it, and it may be a while before I do link one, as I want to figure out some things first. I will say that I don’t think short form videos (and maybe even long form with how I’m set up right now) are the thing for me right now, even though they are very popular, as editing takes me forever and thinking about how it looks on camera interrupts my flow state.

Painting: finished two more, meant to post one today, however the options to do so were either a picture from my phone or going and getting it to scan and then taking it back (I do not have a good storage space for them here at the moment). The first one requires a cord or doing this from my phone, both of which I do not want to figure out today. The other requires a vehicle, which is hard enough on the regular, however we are now down a vehicle as of last night (which seems to happen every winter… at least we’re not down to one… yet). So little drawing it was!

YouTube: I feel like what I’m going to say is going to make me seem a bit all over the place (which is not an unfair assessment), so please bear with me. I’m going to try streaming, not my art (at least at first), but video games. Reasons being: It won’t leave my head, I don’t have to edit it, it’s a bit more interactive, if I get a laptop I can do it while pet sitting sometimes… there’s a lot of reasons why I think it is the path for me right now. If it’s not your thing, don’t worry, I’m still going to be working on my art and posting here. I’m just trying to figure out the best way for me to put myself out there.

Other than all that… I’m going to try to update somethings with the website, hopefully I don’t mess everything up.

Eyes

Got a bit smudged in places while working on it.

I don’t have much to write about, especially since at the time of writing I should be asleep because I have to be up a LOT earlier than usual for me, as I am pet sitting in the morning, but this managed to slip from my mind until midnight, so here I am.

Classes: found one, have not signed up for it yet.

Social: Posting a little bit (less than once a day), however no link for it yet, because I’m like that.

Painting: Finished four so far, and it is very different for me.

That’s all I feel like elaborating on right now, as this has taken me about an hour from turning on my computer and I should have been asleep about four hours ago.

Glasses!

Couldn’t find my index cards, so I cut some cardstock to the same size, hence the pink color (and what ever colors may show up in future).

This one is a little rougher than usual due to a variety of factors. It’s been a little bit since I’ve drawn like this, I did not have a very stable surface, and I very VERY recently got glasses and they make everything go a bit like this \ /. So that’s going to take some getting used to.

As for the percolating idea for putting myself out there that I mentioned last time… I’m gonna try to do more with social media. I’m also looking into local art classes after a talk with my dad (for a longtime any I saw were for a different age group or the timing didn’t work, so I had stopped even considering the possibility of one), so we’ll see how that goes.

meditation

I used another glitter pen, and it did not turn out as well as the last one when scanned.. oh well.

Ok, I said I would think about goals for my art, and I did write down a couple.

1st, is 10 Cute or Creepy paintings. I haven’t done much painting, however I have some acrylic paints, and this gives me a way to explore it without it feeling too serious.

2nd, is 10 Landscape paintings. This one… there’s a few reasons for it. I want to stretch myself by trying to make what I see, rather than whatever pops into my head. I also understand that most of the things I make are rather niche, and when you combine that with how hard I find it to put myself out there, it’s rather difficult to make any money. Do I think landscapes are going to be a magical fix all? No. I do think I would feel better about taking them to a local art gallery, which would be a step forward.

Other than that… minorly contemplating something to help with putting myself out there, however I am an anxious bean and it will take a lot of courage on my part, so I’ll see how I’m feeling about it next time.

Wasn’t sure how the gold glitter pen would turn out when scanned. I’m glad you can kinda see it, however it does look better in person.

As for the New Year… I hope it is a good one. I know many people have their resolutions and whatnot, but I haven’t really thought about it this time. I have things I’m working on, like my art, and sewing, and myself. I haven’t really written down any goals for them though, so I’ll see what I come up with this week.

The season tends to be pretty hectic, with set up, various celebrations and get togethers, present getting/making, on top of the regular day to day things… it can be a bit overwhelming, so I also hope you were at least able to find some times to take a breath and settle yourself so thing were a little easier.
