Do you think a monster would survive under this ‘bed’?
This one was inspired by my bed eating my phone, and it was quite a pain to get it back. I had to take it apart a little, which is not something you want to be doing when you were about to go to sleep. That being said, I’m really happy with how this turned out! Especially considering I didn’t have a reference in front of me, or get up to go look at it!
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend, and sleep well!
It got really hot this week! We were in the hundreds since Sunday, went to 109°F on Wednesday, then dropped down to 93°F on Thursday. The week before that, the highest was a 91°F. So the weather threw me for a loop. Some people I know really enjoyed it, and I’m really happy they did. I think I handled it pretty well. It did cause a can of seltzer to pop in my dad’s car while I was driving it, which made it smell like a baked good for a while awhile.
I was also scared to make a drawing during this time, because I wasn’t sure how the heat would affect my pens, and had a hard time finding an answer to that. I have found some answers to related things, and it seems like it might ok… I suppose it’s one of those “try it and see” things that I’ll do at some point.
Hope you all have a wonderful week, stay cool, and remember to stay hydrated!
The creative energy was a bit weird this time. I had a lot of it, and plenty of ideas, however the stuff to make them the way I wanted got misplaced. So my enthusiasm had kind of left by the time I got to this.
The day before this one, I spent about 5-6 hours on a piece, not cute or creepy related, that I’ll add to a post later this month.
Decided to work on a little shading with this one, and I’m pretty happy with it today! I have noticed that I am generally happier with how my art is turning out right now, and I think some of that is because I’m allowing my art to just be what it is, and not pressuring myself to do more than I’m ready for yet.
Also, if you noticed those shadows on the top and bottom of this piece, it’s because I’m using regular old printer paper which wrinkles from all the ink that gets put on it. Sometimes it even causes the tape to unstick from the board!… This one did that… to be fair the current tape already has a hard time sticking anyway. Which is nice because it means you don’t have to worry about it tearing the paper, the flip side is the not staying on the board which can lead to your paper getting beat up. Maybe I’ll try a mix next time.
And incase you didn’t notice, there has been a change to the comments section which should make it a little easier for some people to leave one! No pressure though.
I’M BACK!!!!! I apologize for dropping off like that. With redoing all of the old ones, I lost some of the love and connection with the art I was making, and as the world started up again I got more and more responsibilities and was having a hard time juggling them all, so this got set on the back burner and slowly moved to the freezer. I kept want to come back to this, and I was having a hard time figuring out how, since I’ve misplaced some of my materials, and the thought of continuing to redo the old stuff made me a little sad. Then in the past week or so I thought, what if I do it like before and use whatever is on hand? so I grabbed a good old A1 paper, some brush and line pens, and next thing I know this critter is ready to say hi! and I am excited about what I’m doing again! So, hello again!
That being said. While it may be a bit before I post videos, or redo an old one. I am/have been working on a special something for Cute or Creepy, and I will give you all a little sneak peek soon. Thank you for your patience, I hope you have a wonderful Independence Day, and your week trends toward improvement!
P.S. I have also learned that my current upload method doesn’t like big pictures unless the dpi is low… :-I
You know what? I’m changing it up today! I want to know what you think is going on in the picture, to merit such a title as “Almost a Disaster”, and I’ll let you know what I was thinking of next week. In the mean time, I hope you are all having a good week, are staying safe wherever you are and whatever you’re doing, and have a wonderful Independence Day tomorrow!
Ever since a kid ran up to it declaring that it’s a pink horse, it has calmly corrected anyone that says otherwise. It has resulted in a bit of confusion amongst tourists and those new to the village, but no one wants to argue with the thing because, A. it protects the local food crops, and B. it’s a DRAGON! That’s like arguing with a brick wall. If brick walls could breathe fire, and make you disappear with a single bite. Oh! If you ever see it at a party, and it asks if you want to see a magic trick? SAY NO! Or somebody’s gonna end up covered in dragon drool, and that stuff is a pain to get out of anything!
Would you care to join my friend and I? We are greeting the Day Star, high in the sky. A little bit of its light is good for me and you. And it’s good for the plants and my friend too. But don’t stay too long! For even with protection, the Day Stars light can cause destruction!
Note: There is no Redbubble For this yet, because reasons. And I have decided to focus on some other things, before I do anymore on there, as there is not enough demand for it to be worthwhile at this point in time. If there is one that you want on something, now or in the future, let me know and I will put it on there. Hope you all are staying safe, and I will see you next week!
The Wise Rainbow Dragon is quite the majestic sight, and you may catch a glimpse of him in the misty sunlight. If you happen to find him resting in a spot of sun, ask him your questions, one, by one. He’ll answer each question with kindness and care, till the sun has gone down and the fireflies flare. With a great sigh he’ll nudge you on home, wishing you luck with the knowledge now known. And if you happen to see him again, he’ll greet you by name like a very old friend.
Also! I will not be posting next week, as I will be attending a wedding at that time. In the meantime, stay safe and remember to take care of yourselves!
