Fun with Plants (there’s a lot today, so bear with me)

Don’t worry! I’m not disappearing again! Last week was just REALLY busy. There were birthdays, a party, medical appointments, another thing, AND getting ready for General Conference! Combined with the other things I usually do in a week, and I’m surprised I made a coloring page! (it’s for the recovering perfectionist series as I’m going to try to alternate publications)

All that being said, this week was a bit more like I’m used to, and I was able to try an idea I had a few weeks ago. Said idea: press some plants and draw what I see in what they leave behind. If that doesn’t tell you how little I know flower pressing, this next bit might. Only the dandelions left anything, two of which also had brown with the yellow.

However! Not wanting to be deterred from my quest to make SOMETHING this week, I went over them with brush pens and then pressed them, individually, onto the paper… like very annoying stamps… and then proceeded with the rest of the idea!

My thoughts on it? It’s fun and whimsical, while also providing a kind of base to work from. However, it may be a few more steps then I have time or energy for, and I’m not sure how well a larger singular creature would work. Either way, I think it’s good creative exercise.

I hope you all have a wonderful month, and that I will see you here again in May!

P.S. I may need to rethink posting time, as the videos are currently posted at the same time as these, which I think means I can’t embed them till I get up, and I get up LATE compared to most people.

P.P.S. turns out it will embed it once available!

A Special Gift (update!)

Merry belated Christmas, and Happy New Year!!!!!

As of writing this post, the Cute or Creepy Coloring Book is in review at Amazon!!!! I’m so excited! And I hope you enjoy it when it’s ready!

And apologies for dropping off the planet again. There was a problem with WordPress, life got busy in the little ways, and extra time and energy was directed to getting the book ready.

In other news. There has been a change with how the hosting works, so there is now a data limit, which means posting will be limited to once a month for now. That being said, I will be working on posting more in other places. I have some ideas for YouTube, one of which may surprise you, and am figuring out Instagram as well.

Hope you are all well, and have a wonderful week!

Update! The book is now live!!!!!! https://a.co/d/fRrqj1F

Almost a Disaster

You know what? I’m changing it up today! I want to know what you think is going on in the picture, to merit such a title as “Almost a Disaster”, and I’ll let you know what I was thinking of next week. In the mean time, I hope you are all having a good week, are staying safe wherever you are and whatever you’re doing, and have a wonderful Independence Day tomorrow!

The Wise Rainbow Dragon

The Wise Rainbow Dragon is quite the majestic sight, and you may catch a glimpse of him in the misty sunlight. If you happen to find him resting in a spot of sun, ask him your questions, one, by one. He’ll answer each question with kindness and care, till the sun has gone down and the fireflies flare. With a great sigh he’ll nudge you on home, wishing you luck with the knowledge now known. And if you happen to see him again, he’ll greet you by name like a very old friend.

Also! I will not be posting next week, as I will be attending a wedding at that time. In the meantime, stay safe and remember to take care of yourselves!

Hide And Seek Squish

Is it a fish? Is it a squid? How about a Squish? Yes, a Squish do! And I think it wants to play with you. Hide and Seek among the coral, it’s camo hides it well. But it knows you stay long, and so it aids you with a little song. You find it with a little gift for you. An iridescent rock of your favorite hue, as a reminder of your friend in the big ocean blue.

Sorry there wasn’t a post last week, stuff kept happening. Mother’s Day is Tomorrow, so don’t forget to appreciate the maternal figures in your life!

The Serpentine Ribbon Dance

Elegant and graceful, it leaps and sways. Twirling and swirling everyday. Practicing the serpentine ribbon dance, for that great parade of chance.
Where all who see and hear, have better luck throughout the year.

Side note: I should be back to the once a week posting schedule!

The Great Protector Of Children

Before you scream or shout, let me explain what exactly you are seeing. That thing is keeping that baby safe in a collapsing building. It is the great protector of children. With the spines on its back, stronger than any known material, it can create a protective cocoon around its self and any child it’s holding. And its marking serve as a calming focus for children, and a warning for those that wish them harm.

Life: Still no idea why it wasn’t working last week, but my scanner is working again!

Swanlike Serpents Of Sabered-Tooth

The rain starts to fall as they make their way to shore, and they realize their job needs to be done quickly. They start to slither through the giant grass, looking for those that are lost, and awakening those that are sleeping. Gently herding them to safety as the storm sets in. For many a traveler the sight of these giant swanlike serpents is quite startling, especially with their sabered-tooth, and results in their job being harder as people run away. Their solution, when there isn’t enough time to be nice, is to scoop them up with head or tail and hopefully find someone who can explain on the way back.

Tulip Not A Bat

This is Tulip. She is not a bat. What is she? No idea. I know she is transitioning from a winter to a summer coat, floating, and about as tall as the average basketball player. She also gives great hugs, and is an excellent listener if you ever need an ear.

Going For A Trim

Got ready to go in his best, looked in the mirror and found his flowers a mess. So he’s going for a trim. Not a lot! Just a skim. After a little chat, about this and that, while the scissors are going, snip and snap. He leaves with a smile on his face, and a peculiar feeling he can’t quite place.

My question is, did he go to a barber or a florist?!
